The Return of Breakfast with Santa (with KCIC Poster Contest)

Webmaster Elf Ann DeMartino shares:

Breakfast with Santa was very well attended!  Tons of kids participated in the poster contest, along with the arts & crafts.  Check out the photos on our website Gallery.

Everything was perfectly set up in the morning from the crew from the night-before!  The corner for Santa was home-y, even with stockings hung by the chimney with care.

Denise created a nice poster (to keep for years to come) for the Keep Christ in Christmas poster contest.  Lois did a great job organizing us all, as well as supplying the certificates for each participant.

Doris brought some no-sew blankets for us to tie for a well-deserving recipient… a dialysis center, with patients in need of warmth from a blanket in such a trying situation.

So many other Ladies Aux participants, too (Rita, Julie, Julia, Cathy, Denise, Lois, Doris, Janet, Donna, Carol, Caroline, April…and I’m sure I am missing some other Ladies).  It was also nice to see the many families of our members, with their husbands, kids, grandkids, and godchildren.  Some of our helpers were our Ladies’ very own children and grandchildren.

This was the perfect way to stay in the spirit of Christmas, for sure!  I just wanted to say my sincere ‘Thank you’ for such a great morning!! And most of all…I hope that each of you have a very Blessed and Merry Christmas.  God bless.

Mums for Mercy proceeds donated to Living Well Cancer Resource Center

Thanks to all of our Charity Garden Market customers who came out this fall to support Geneva’s Living Well Cancer Resource Center.  We are delighted to donate $2,137 to provide access to quality care and support for cancer patients and their families throughout their cancer journey.  Serving seven counties in the western suburbs, Living Well relies solely on donations from the community to provide 100-plus programs and services free of charge.

Angela McCrum, Living Well’s director attended the Ladies Auxiliary’s November meeting to accept the check from Celeste Marc, while Caroline Ehmann looks on.

Never Give Up on Life Memorial Golf Outing Benefits Corbella Clinic

Over 130 golfers spent a glorious day on Elgin Country Club course.  Several of our ladies participated (both as golfers and support team) on July 19th! We assisted with registration
and raffles. As always, this is a wonderful event to show our support for the Knights as well as the mission in promoting the sacredness of life at all stages!

Thank you, Charity Davis, for putting together our Coffee and Tea basket raffle donation.  The total Corbella Clinic donation will be announced at their Celebration Dinner in September.

Lazarus House’s New Microwave!

1000W Commercial Microwave

The Ladies Auxiliary donated the funds necessary to replace the Women & Children Day Center’s microwave that was moved into the Emergency Shelter.

Lazarus House

Their mission is to offer guests connected to our communities, who are homeless or in need, hope for the future by providing hospitality, food, safe shelter, and education — tools for life.  They give people a hand up, not a hand out, and strive to make certain that all who enter feel the love of Jesus.
