Morning Hike at Johnson’s Mound Forest Preserve

Four members took advantage of the beautiful weather on November 17, 2020, National Take a Hike Day, to explore and enjoy Johnson’s Mound loop trail.Ā  This .9 mile trail is paved, has 91 feet elevation gain (the mound) and is rated easy.Ā  While this setting is beautiful in Spring and Fall, it is equally as beautiful now as we begin Advent on Sunday, November 29th.

For you, O Lord, my soul in stillness waits,
Truly my hope is in you.

O Lord of Light, our only hope of glory,
Your radiance shines in all who look to you,
Come, light the hearts of all in dark and shadow. (Refrain)

O Spring of Joy, rain down upon our spirits,
Our thirsty hearts are yearning for your Word,
Come, make us whole, be comfort to our hearts. (Refrain)

O Root of Life, implant your seed within us,
And in your advent draw us all to you,
Our hope reborn in dying and in rising. (Refrain)

O Key of Knowledge, guide us in our pilgrimage,
We ever seek, yet unfulfilled remain,
Open to us the pathway of your peace. (Refrain)

Lyrics by Marty Haugen

Donation to St. John Neumann Fellowship

In March 2020, the Ladies Auxiliary contributed a new coffee urn and 2 utility/serving carts.Ā  Little did we know the curtailment of fellowship due to Covid-19.

Fr. Peck wrote, “Both of these items will certainly help service the many events that take place here at the church.”Ā  He thanked us for serving God and living the Gospel.

Spring Shred Day and Charity Garden Market canceled due to virus

Shred Day Fundraiser – April 25th moved to TBD Fall date.

Charity Garden Market – May 9th –Ā It is with much regret that we’ve canceled our Charity Garden Market for 2020.Ā  It was an agonizing decision forĀ theĀ Committee as flowers bring joy and beauty to ourĀ lives particularly during this unprecedentedĀ time.Ā  We had hoped to continue with an on-line annuals purchase and pick-up/delivery, but that will not be possible.Ā  For anyone that had already placed an on-line order, we have refunded your purchase.

May God bless our world, and each of you with healing and strength.

The Knights of Columbus and Ladies Auxiliary are delighted to sponsor the statue of Jesus and Children to benefit and inspire our children and future generations at St. Patrick School.

Monsignor Deutsch wrote, “Sacred art created throughout the ages by men and women whose faith has inspired them to create which is good, true and beautiful will inspire our young people to raise their own gifts and talents to our creator.Ā  True and sacred art makes us better and want to be better.”
